Action Shooting is available on the Action Range and the nine Action Bays. Allowable 'actions' include drawing from a holstered firearm, plinking, movement while shooting, shooting from alternate positions including supine, prone, behind barriers, etc. As a reminder, unless there is a scheduled event where all shooters are controlled by a Range Safety Officer, ALL targets must be placed at the base of the berm.
The firing line is set and/or modified by the first member on the Action Range/Bay.
The Action Range and Bays are the only ranges where drawing from a holster is allowed. The Action Range and Bays are the only Ranges where the firing of fully automatic firearms is allowed, and you must be within 10-15 yards of the rear berm.
Shooters with automatic firearms must be close enough to the back berm (10-15 yards) that there is no chance of losing rounds over the berm because of muzzle rise or failure to properly control the firearm.
No firearms are to be handled up range or under the covered areas when people are down range.
Firearms can be brought from vehicles to the covered area and then to the firing line only if they are holstered or encased.
The Action Range and Bays are for casual shooting practice, action shooting, and plinking. Plinking at objects at a maximum of 18" above the base of the back berm or below to the base is permitted. No plinking at targets above 18" of the back berm or on the ground in front of the back berm is allowed.
No shooting of glass, concrete, unapproved steel, or any other objects that may cause ricochets or that may cause damage to Club Equipment and Property.
Steel targets and stands that will be approved by the Action Director must be AR500 steel for all center fire pistols and the stands must have the front of the plate angled at a minimum of fifteen degrees downward cant. AR500 steel is not required for rimfire targets. Shooting at steel with any center fire rifle cartridge is strictly prohibited on the Action Ranges.
All steel targets must be located at the base of the berm except for organized formal events with Safety Officers present.
Scheduled events include IDPA, Club Defensive Pistol Matches, Steel Challenge, 2 & 3 Gun Matches, Glock Matches, and others. If you would like to participate in any of these matches, check the Calendar for dates and times.
